By msaludez TRUSTWORTHY Support My Dell Mini 10 laptop only has 3 USB ports so I’ve been on the lookout for a cheap mouse for it so that I can free up a USB port for my other peripherals. I’m a freelance writer and language coach so I also wanted to use it as a clicker for presentations. This would mean that I don’t have to buy a separate clicker, which is not only an added expense but an added weight and clutter that I have to lug around when I do training sessions.
I saw a couple of name brand ones that I liked, but the prices for those were way beyond my range so I’ve been holding off on buying. Two. weeks ago, I saw one in my price range in CD-R King and decided to make the purchase right there and then. Mind you, it was still pretty pricey, at about 5x what I would pay for a regular USB mouse, but it was a third of the name brand ones so I actually bought two, one for myself and one for my husband. It initially really worked well. Installation and set up were extremely easy and I was able to use it right away. The form factor was good because it was very slim and it was considerably lighter than a regular USB mouse.
I loved that I had less weight to lug around with my laptop. Also, I dislike cable clutter so this was perfect for me.
My husband was pretty happy with his too. He delighted reported that since the technology was pretty new to his colleagues, everybody drooled over his new mouse. Unfortunately, we do get what we pay for and after only two weeks of happily using it, I’m experiencing major problems with it already.

At first, the problem was that it would not connect automatically when I powered my laptop on so that I have to connect the mouse manually each time I powered on my laptop. This was once or twice a day so I was fine with it.
Then it began to disconnect intermittently during use so that. I had to keep reconnecting it. This morning, the thing just plain gave up. The red power pilot light and the blue light are still both actively blinking, but I get no response when I move it.

I tried to connect it manually and my laptop says it connected successfully, but still no response. I have gotten so used to it that I know I will not be able to keep from buying a new one. But I will get a name brand mouse this time, despite the significantly higher price.
